Mark's New Job

Over the weekend Mark applied for a job with FedEx.  This morning he got a phone call from them to say that if her wanted the job it is his.  After talking to them for a few minutes Mark found out that it was his old manager that wanted him back.

This is real exciting because we have been struggling sense I made the decision a year ago to be a stay at home mom.  At the time FedEx was not hiring so for the past few months I would go on their website to see if they were hiring in Salt Lake City.  And this weekend was our lucky day.  We have been praying that some how either Mark or I would find a part time job so that one of us would be home with the kids at all times.  With this answer to our prayers I will not have to go back to work, I will help my sisters out by watching their children while they work part time.  It gives me time to spend with not only my children but my nephews and nieces.

For all those reading this just remember that Heavenly Father will answer your prayers just in his own time and sometimes that seems like eternity.

Catching up

As you can see I have changed the name of my blog from " Mom of 2" to " Tucker Gang".  I thought that it was time for a change.  I know that it has been awhile sense I have posted on here.  Life has been crazy this summer.  My parents decided to remodel the main area of their house which was much needed so we have been helping them with that and getting in their veggie garden. Over Memorial Day we went camping with a mission friend of mine, her family has property in St. George.
This is one of my favorite pictures from that trip.  Paul was cold from after suffering from heat stroke and so he found the only spot where the sun was and sat down looking into the field where there were cows.

In July was my family reunion at Moon Lake, Mark was unable to go do to work so the kids and I loaded up in my mom's car and went with them for a week long of much need rest and fun.  First we stopped in Coleville to camp at camper world over the weekend and then Monday we headed to Moon Lake to camp with my Aunt Janet and Uncle Verl and then Thursday we move to the group site for the family reunion. It ended up raining most of the time, but we still played hard. We had a horseshoe tournament and I teamed up with my dad.  We ended up loosing but it was a lot of fun and I learned that I could really play.

A few weeks ago I have started home schooling Paul, Lilly, and Rickylyn.  We have school three days a week. It has been great fun and Paul is able to learn beyond the 2 hours that school time is.  Not only that but Lilly and Rickylyn can start at age 2 instead of waiting till next year to be in school.  The all are very smart and love the idea that I am the teacher and that they get to learn a lot of fun stuff.  This month they are learning about their bodies and how it works, it is interesting and fun to see the colors they color their organs and where on thier body outlines they place them.  But they love learning about what and how their bodies work.  So now you can see why life has been crazy.

We are doing great and are glad to be able to teach our children.

The Many Faces of Lilly

These days it is hard to get Lilly to take a pic.  But when we get her on a good day when she wants to we don't know what we will get.  Here is what I mean:

Learning bad habits from Paul. And in this one you can tell they are siblings.

She told me that she need a band aid for her eye because she had hurt it.  Really there was nothing there, but this was a funny pic opt so I had to take it.

Lilly put this band aid on her mouth and then wanted daddy to take a picture of her.  That is our Lilly for you.

And I save the best for last.  This is my favorite pics of her.  We took this picture the day before she got her stitches out.  But she looks like and angel in this one.  With that innocent look and angel curls.

Paul Loves his Primary Songs

So for the past 2 days Paul has been singing Follow the Prophet.  I asked him if he was learning that song in primary and he informed me that he was not that Aunt Emily and Uncle Hugh and taught him the song at Grandma Anne's house.  Then I remembered that they were singing primary songs and months later Paul is singing them.  So Emily and Hugh when you thought that Paul was not paying attention or listing when you were singing the primary songs, guess again! He was so paying attention and he is singing Follow the Prophet now.  And he tells everyone that he learned it from Aunt Emily and Uncle Hugh!

Another Lilly moment

So this week Lilly has come down with the cold that Paul and Mark had.  So with that said she has been so a mommy's girl which I am not complaining about.  So tonight she was sitting on my lap and covered me up with her "baby" (blanket for those that don't know) and started telling me wild stories that a two year old does.  It was the cutest thing ever and it made me pause for just a moment to thank my Heavenly Father for this little girl who is a little teenager but is also a little angel(when she wants to be).

OUR BIG GIRL

So this week Lilly h as decided that she is going to dress herself.  On Tuesday she was putting on her PJ top when she was having issues with the arms.  She ripped it off and said " My sad mommy"  I asked her why she was sad and she pointed to the top.  I asked her if it was because she could not put on her top and she nodded.  I told her that we would wait a few minutes and try again, she would not have anything to do with it after that so I ended up getting her dress.  The next day she was determined to dress herself and so she did, her shirt was even on the right way, for her pants I can't say the same.  She was so excited for her victory of finally getting herself dressed all by herself and her and Paul did a little dance to celebrate.

It is amazing to know that your little girl is growing up right before your eyes and that she wants to be big like her big brother who is her hero.

Our Cute Trouble

So last Saturday Lilly decided that she was going to climb on top of a small shelving unit in her room to look out the window( the shelving unit is not by the window but is close to it). As she was lifting up the blinds and trying to steady herself she fell and hit her face on the corner of the shelving unit and ended up with a nice little gash by her nose along with some other scrapes and bruises, Mark ended up taking her to the ER where she rec'd 2 stitches and butterfly tape.

So you would think that this would stop her from climbing on stuff for awhile......... Oh No the next day I had caught her on top of the dresser in their closest going through her close that were hanging up.  Mark and I are always having to get her down from some item she decided that she was going to climb that minute.  That is why she now has the nickname of "Cute Trouble" because she is trouble but oh so cute.

Hello 2012

So we just got back from our trip to Maryland on Tuesday.  And we are ready to face the new year with new goals.  One of Paul's goals for this new year is to spend more time with his family and to do things together as a family.  For a four year old that is a great goal and he thought of it all on his own.  I think that we all should strive this year to find the time even if it is ten minutes to spend with our family.  We have started reading a book or two before the kids go to bed  at night and they love it because it is time that they get to spend with mommy with no interruptions.  So I challenge all of you to make one of you goals to spend more time with your famlily.
